United Way of Story County Kicks Off LIVE UNITED Food Drive on May 14
|

Hunger is real. Economic struggles force some families to choose between paying for electricity and buying groceries. Bethesda Community Food Pantry in Ames served an average of 1,474 individuals each month last year. To combat this real and substantial need, United Way of Story County will hold the 4th Annual LIVE UNITED Food Drive May 14-24.

Wintersteen Named Chair of United Way of Story County Board

Wendy Wintersteen, Iowa State University Dean of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Ames, was elected as the new chair of the 2012-2013 Board of Directors of United Way of Story County (UWSC).
Wintersteen has served on a number of UWSC committees, including Allocations and Executive.

United Way of Story County (UWSC) has elected seven new directors to its Board: Kevin Brooks of South Story Bank; Dave Elsenbast of Renewable Energy Group; Ben Jacobson, a student at Iowa State University; Karen Kiel Rosser of Mary Greeley Medical Center; Cathann Kress of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach; Rick Schreier of Randall Story State Bank and Natalie Smith, a student at Iowa State University.

United Way of Story County Recognizes RSVP Volunteers
|
|
United Way of Story County (UWSC) showed its appreciation to the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers by hosting a soup luncheon on Wednesday, March 14. Jean Kresse, President and CEO of UWSC; Steve McGill, Past Chair of the UWSC Board of Directors, and Jane Acker, 2012 UWSC Campaign Chair shared words of gratitude with the volunteers.
